Fight against freedom is old and crafty.

Direct democracy (DD) is an instrument of public freedom. As all other instruments of freedom it is often offered in cramped ‘editions’ of "directdemocracy" to the excluded populations. 
To expose fake DD gadgets mobilze action towards getting true ones an open public debate is needed . So, no surprise, great pains are taken to control public debate - done again by covert displacement of free public communication by seemingly free one. To reach a commonly shared strategie and mobilize collective action towards real DD we have to first break the monopoly in public communication. And in fighting for DD we should first demand it in public media and WWW.

Next, we must be aware that under different conditions different sets of DD rights are needed to produce real control of society (all the people with voting rights) on public power. So  this is actually the aim, not just any DD rights. If they provide real control of society on public power, they are good, if not – they are bad. 

In Bulgaria we need much stronger set of democratic rights – at least for a period of time – because the citizenry is weak (no middle strata) and state and media are deeply corrupted - all in private hands.So  in our 'swamp' full of crocodiles no crumps of "direct democracy" will do but only the full set of DD rights.
